15 Ways to Think More Clearly

1- Choose the right time, as the brain works in a mysterious way. While adults think effectively in the morning, teenagers think more effectively during the evening. Choose the time when you think effectively and use it to do complex things.

2- Get a good education but don't overdo it. Psychologist Dean Keith Simonton says that teaching has a positive effect on creativity during the final year. Find something you excel at.

3- Listen to Confucius' advice, and write it down: "The cheapest ink lasts longer than the strongest memory."

4- Be alert. Research has shown that consuming an amount of caffeine equivalent to a cup of coffee can help you focus, but if you suffer from anxiety, stay away from stimulants that may cause adverse results.

5- Link new memories to older memories. “To get a stronger memory, link new memories to old ones,” says Denise Park, Ph.D. “Use old memories as a basis for new memories.”

6- Practice, practice, practice. Learning and practicing new skills over and over again causes internal changes in the brain. A new study showed that regular training sessions helped volunteers in their 70s function better, improving their cognition and skills that they had seven years ago.

7- Give your ideas a chance. Many of us have the ability to evaluate facts and make decisions quickly, while creativity requires giving ideas a chance to be presented in an innovative way, even if they are strange.

8- Take up a cultural profession and befriend intelligent people. An interesting study from Poland suggests that people whose professions require thinking are more likely to endure higher levels of cognition in their lives, and marrying an intelligent person may provide continuous stimulation.

9- Expose yourself to multiple experiences. Creativity often emerges in finding solutions from simple things. For example, the metal piece that we bend to open soft drink cans is inspired by a banana peel.

10- Learn from the geniuses. Michael Gelb, author of the book (How to Think Like Leonardo da Vinci), presents several strategies in his book that the Renaissance man used to stimulate his brain, including learning the skill of drawing with the left hand and juggling.

11- Pay attention, do you often forget the name of the person you just met? This does not mean that your memory is bad, but your concentration is weak. Focus, pay attention and link the name in your memory immediately. For example, Omar. Well, he resembles the companion Omar bin Al-Khattab, and he is strong in the truth like him as well.

12- Listen to the Qur’an a lot, as studies have proven that the Qur’an strengthens memory and develops mental abilities.

13- Exercise your body to improve your brain. A growing number of researchers believe that Swedish exercise can improve everything from school performance to nerve conduction speed. These mechanisms provide the brain with oxygen and nutrients, in addition to providing a boost of natural compounds that promote the growth of brain cells.

14- Try something new. Shortly before his death, the impressionist artist, Matisse, changed his artistic path from the brush to the scissors, and he was able to succeed with his scissors. Experts say that change stimulates the mind to creativity and innovation, so try something new and you may excel at it creatively.

15- Stop distractions. If you are surrounded by stimuli and things that may distract you, move away from them or stop them. For example, study in the library if you know the house is full of noise.
