There is a frantic race in the world, sometimes loud and sometimes silent, a race to take over markets and gain customers for more and more money. The truth is that the current structure of financial and business markets and the movement of consumption and production does not allow anyone to remain on his feet unless he uses all his intelligence, all his effort and time, and sometimes all his cunning, guile and malice. Although each one of us has the right to denounce the current situation, the benefit of that is almost non-existent, and hence - in the short term - there is nothing left for each one of us but to adapt and work according to the requirements of the market and within the framework of its principles and values.

Today, all companies, institutions and employment agencies seek two important things: improving the goods, services and outputs they provide and reducing the cost. Success in these two matters is a condition for staying in the market, and staying in the market is a condition for continuity and not falling into bankruptcy.

What are the components of the culture of achievement that the new generation should be educated in today in order to live a decent and normal life?

1- Having a strong motivation to succeed, as what is required today is not to achieve some results, but rather to achieve excellent results.

It is noticeable that many young people today do not aim for success and excellence in their work, but rather work with the goal of avoiding failure or being fired from work in mind. It is important to realize that as long as we work in a context of fierce competition, it is not enough for our achievements to be excellent, but they must surpass the achievements of most of our competitors, otherwise success turns into a disastrous failure. I know that competition is always associated with some degree of civilized decadence, but the problem is that the results of not entering into the prevailing competitions are often disastrous!

2- Continuously striving to reduce product costs, this applies to factories and companies as well as to individuals, and the goal of this is to succeed in competition by selling at lower prices, which means attracting more customers, and this is clear for goods, but for individuals, reducing costs means saving time and effort for comfort and providing the opportunity to practice social activity and maintain family ties and so on, and thus the student who studies his lessons and writes his research in a good and modern way saves some time in order to do many useful works.

It must be noted here that reducing costs always requires (resisting waste) wasting time, wasting materials used, and wasting effort. This means working to improve work and production methods on a permanent basis.

Personally, I do not know a successful person who does not care about making the most of his time and does not care about developing his performance.

3- The culture of achievement requires each of us to struggle with himself in order to overcome boredom, tedium and fatigue. It is proven that working within a team eliminates a lot of boredom, but we must be careful not to waste time talking about side issues that are not related to work. It is also clear that stopping work every three or four hours for half an hour renews determination and activates internal incentives. It has been said: A military battalion can walk ten hours a day if it rests ten minutes every hour.

4- The accomplished person resists monotony, as he resists the tendency to work in the safe zone. He takes moderate and calculated risks. It has been proven that great results of work in any field remain linked to a degree of risk. You find this clearly in the difference between usury and trade. The returns of money placed in banks - despite their being forbidden in many cases - are small, while the money used in trade may multiply many times in a year. The difference is the risk in trade and its absence in usury.

5- The tendency to accomplish difficult things and perseverance in work are among the ethics and habits of highly accomplished people. It is unfortunate that weak schools and universities have made our children addicted to an easy life, and deprived them of tasting the taste of suffering, although achieving impressive results requires long periods of work that may reach twenty years of research, experimentation, development and distinguished performance.

I believe that building excellent work environments is the best way to generate and instill a culture of achievement in our youth, and although building such environments requires a lot of time and effort, we have no other choice.
