My journey with Mawhiba started with a Mawhiba Scale test in the third grade of middle school, and I got a high score that enabled me to join the international Mawhiba enrichment program OXMEDICA, which gave me the opportunity to try different university majors, experience life away from home, and make great friends. Through the OXMEDICA program, I was able to try the specializations of medicine - cybersecurity - architecture, as I was not sure which major I wanted to study. I benefited a lot from this experience, and in the second year I was the best performing student in the program and was honored.
Although I studied in the Natural Sciences Department at school, I have loved history since my childhood, and I was passionate about reading about the lives of previous eras, their costumes, and the laws that governed their lives. I grew up in the United Kingdom during my childhood, where my parents were completing their higher education, and we used to visit castles and museums a lot. My hobby was writing letters with a pen and trying on historical costumes. When I returned to my homeland, I enjoyed visiting the antiquities in the city of AlUla, and I became curious to discover a national civilization and heritage to learn the details of my ancestors’ lives.
I joined the Excellence Program at Mawhiba and received great support from my supervisor in the program. I applied to the strongest universities and - praise be to God - I was accepted into a number of them. I chose the university that suited me in the history major that I study passionately. There was great support from Mawhiba’s management in expediting the procedures for obtaining the scholarship and setting a date for issuing the visa at the embassy and issuing the financial guarantee. There was continuous follow-up until I arrived at Rice University and began my studies.
I thank Mawhiba for supporting me and enabling me to achieve my ambition and helping me throughout my journey to success.
